Obituaries
The Gazette publishes obituaries based on information provided
by families and funeral homes. There is a charge for standard obituaries
with content determined by the families. Each obituary contains basic
information of name, age, place of death, services and memorial gifts,
but families can choose whatever additional information of a
biographical or personal nature they wish to run. Paid obituaries will
also be available for a deceased who has not lived in our area. For more
information please call our obituary writer 413-585-5230. The deadline
for obituaries is 5 p.m. the day before publication. Obituaries should
be emailed to obituaries@gazettenet.com or faxed to 413-585-5299. The
direct line for the obituary writer is 413-585-5230.
Photographs
Our photographers cover as many community events as possible. To suggest photo coverage for a community event in your community, contact a Gazette editor about two weeks in advance.
The Gazette publishes photos of local people who receive significant honors. Examples are retiring employees, new professionals in the community, presidents of civic, social and charitable groups, Eagle Scouts, and people receiving professional awards or scholarships. We can use your own good quality prints, or if none are available, a Gazette photographer may be able to take a photo in our studio.
Send a photo with your engagement or wedding announcement and we will publish it. For couples celebrating a wedding anniversary beginning with the 25th and every fifth year after that, the Gazette will be pleased to take a
photo.
