CHESTERFIELD - A lot of things go on in the multi-purpose gymnasium at the New Hingham School, but a red-tailed hawk flying around usually isn't one of them. A school assembly last Thursday, though, had students filled with awe as one did just that.

CHESTERFIELD - Like most Hilltowns, Chesterfield affords few places where people might choose to loiter. There are no bars, no restaurants and no video arcades. There's only a small stretch of sidewalk in the center of town where loiterers might decide to linger. So what's a proposed loitering bylaw doing on the annual Town Meeting warrant?

CHESTERFIELD - Three write-in candidates won offices and all incumbents were re-elected without opposition in this year's annual town election Monday.
A total of 70 ballots were cast, which is 8 percent of the town's 841 registered voters.

CHESTERFIELD There are no contested races on the ballot for todays town elections and three positions remain open.
Voting will take place at the Chesterfield Town Office at 422 Main Road.
Polls open at noon and close at 8 p.m.
