AMHERST - Police have identified the 20-year-old University of Massachusetts student who was injured Sunday after being hit by a car.
Brandan M. Wall, 20, of Northfield, N.J., who was hit by a vehicle driven by Michael E. Lopilato, 21, of Stoneham, at 1:02 a.m. on a stretch of the road between Hasbrouck Laboratory and Skinner Hall, was listed in good condition Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Lt. Ron Young, head of the Amherst Police Detective Bureau, said Wednesday that the accident remains under investigation, with at least two more witnesses left to interview. Young said it is unlikely charges will be brought against the driver.
The victim, Wall, was originally identified as 18, but police are saying now that he is 20.
