SUNDERLAND - Olga F. Skibiski, 93, of 147 North Main St., died Sunday morning, Feb. 19, 2012, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.

She was born in Holyoke on February 3, 1919.

She was the daughter of John J. and Antonia S. (Czajkowska) Bieniek. She was educated in the Holyoke schools and graduated from Holyoke High School. She became a supervising nurse at Holyoke Hospital, the institution in which she earned her registered nurse degree. The city honored her and crowned her "Miss Holyoke" in 1940.

She was married to Roman R. Skibiski on July 4, 1942.

They were lifelong residents of Sunderland. He predeceased her Jan. 20, 1990.

Olga was a devoted and caring wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She traveled many places with her husband and children. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann Skibiski of Trumbull, Conn.; nephew Michael R. Skibiski and wife Carole of Sunderland; nephew John Skibiski and his Ann of Northampton; and the extended Bieniek and Skibiski families.

Olga was predeceased by a son, Roman R. Skibiski III; a daughter, Ramona Skibiski; and her two loving brothers, Victor and Edwin Bieniek.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no formal funeral or calling hours.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Sunderland Volunteer Firemen's Association, c/o Robert Ahearn, Route 47, Sunderland, MA 01375.

The Skibiski family would like to thank the caregivers and the staff at Charlene Manor Facility for the excellent care given to her.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield.
