Ann Micelotta, was kind to everyone

AMHERST - Ann (Izzo) Micelotta died peacefully Feb. 19, 2012, at Amherst Center for Extended Care.

Ann was born in 1921 in Flushing, N.Y.

Ann was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Micelotta.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Caliendo of Oceanside, N.Y.; her son, Richard P. Micelotta and his partner Eugenie Harvey of Amherst; her son, David R. Micelotta of Farmingville, N.Y.; and grandchildren Aliza and Ryan Micelotta of Amherst. Members of her extended family include Bernadette C. Marian of Pelham and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann was one of seven children born to Italian immigrants. She grew up during the depression era in Flushing, N.Y. After World War II she married her beloved Ralph and raised her two sons in Bayside, N.Y. She moved to Winfield Senior Estates in Hadley in 2006 and was frequently seen with her shopping cart walking over to Stop & Shop. She spent the last ten months at the Amherst Center for Extended Care, where they provided exceptional care.

Ann always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone. All who knew her loved her.
